That's a real quality name that is.
Family silver is long gone. RIP Crosby Doors. It was not me who sold it. Shame it was sold off really. I'd rather have a business than free money.

partly true. when Top Gear went to the North Pole they found it was somewhere else. all to do with magnetism apparently - so I reckon you must have had a hand in it.
whaddothey call you in the office? 00x ? (as in The X Files)
Its migrating anyway, not where it was last year. Pigeons being confused. Its reckoned it will flip before too long. It will be odd referring to the South Magnetic Pole. oh shit !! we'll all be standing on our heads and GPS will think we're all sheep shaggers.

When I was at teacher training college in the 70s in Dudley, all the South Wales rugby boys wore sheepskin coats... **Did not check if they also had wellies.

No one knows how quickly the magnetic field flips over. Crows may be confused.

sorry, I don't understand that. in view you have posted it we must infer that you know what it's all about, so perhaps you can explain what magnetic stripes are and what magma has to do with polar movement and possible polar reversal, instead of just attaching some incomprehensible diagram.

Isambard Kingdom Brunel said: "Its migrating anyway, not where it was last year. Pigeons being confused. Its reckoned it will flip before too long. My additions show evidence that this be so. Have you never heard of magnetic strips on the sea floor? Continental drift?

Looks like we are well overdue a magnetic flip:

I understand it. Periodically the magnetic poles flip, not the physical poles. The North seeking end of the compass will point to what used to be the magnetic South. This leaves a reversed field in the magma that has risen through the mid Atlantic ridge, hence a series of N-S S-N stripes left in the geological record. The eruptions of the mid Atlantic ridge are what has pushed the American and European / African tectonic plates apart over the millenia, that's what the timescale on the graph is.

I am reminded of the CWDF lady who went off in a huff and painted her boat all over in blacking, including all over her mushrooms. I forget her name. We passed her boat outside Skipton in June 2017. Has it passed the BSS I wonder... Foxy, as you know I live in Skipton and although Mad Max was almost permanently based here just below Belmont Bridge, even quite a while after she flounced off the forum, I haven't seen that boat for a very long time where it used to be. I must admit that I haven't walked up the Springs Branch towpath for ages so maybe, just maybe, she got a mooring up there but I would guess not to be honest. Roger
