Looks from that steep-to sand and mud edge as though that thing's probably been parked on the remains of Reads Island. Why am I not surprised that it's a very similar sort of boat to the one that pulled off a similar sort of stunt a short while ago ? I think, in general, the design and style of boats says an awful lot about the sort of people who buy them. It does look awfully similar. Maybe it's the same boat ! ETA actually no it isn't as the other one did not have that radar arch. It's a generic type of boat so there will be a lot around (sp?) to be fair. The only explanation I can think of for people buying that sort of boat is it looks like a miniaturised Abramovitch superyacht. It must be a style thing. To me they are completely devoid of any style whatsoever but then it does take all sorts doesn't it.

Am I right in thinking that the TB member who goes under the name Socks is one and the same as LadyG over on CWDF ? If so, she's presently engaged over there in collecting some typically unhelpful and inappropriate advice on an intended trip up the Trent from Keadby to Stockwith from the silly cow with the motorized soapdish that bears an uncanny resemblance to the ones Humber Rescue have been kept occupied with in the last few weeks.
She's been treated to a couple of video clips of the said silly cow's plastic runabout going in at Stockwith with a good Ebb running down, whereas if LadyG/Socks leaves Keadby at the right time, she'll get to Stockwith on the very last of the Flood and will only have to wait a few minutes before being able to get in to the lock with the tide dropping slack.

On 22/07/20 LadyG said: "I'm at Keadby, thinking about the Chesterfield canal, not sure how to plan tides." To which Alan de Enfield replied: "I thought you were a lumpy-water sailor, and you never plotted tides or used the tidal stream atlas ?"

Local HW should be around 1305 -1310, but with tides of the size they are at the moment, and next to no fresh coming downriver, the river through Gainsborough and below does tend to continue running up for a little while after local HW. It's 13 miles from Keadby to Stockwith, which makes your ideal time for exiting Keadby Lock 1120 - 1125, . . although you might have to go out a bit earlier than that if there are any ships sailing from Keadby or Gunness wharves this morning, . . because that's just about the time they'll be singling-up ready for getting underway. You can check on sailing times for anything laying at Keadby or Gunness with the VTS at Spurn, or you could just walk across onto the AWS/PD Ports wharf - the one next to the lock - and ask the wharf staff or someone on the ship. On today's leg of the journey, once clear of Keadby Bridge, you'll be OK staying midstream apart from the mile and a bit from just topside of the dolphins at Derrythorpe to just topside of the M180 Bridge, along which you should keep about 1/3 the river's width out from the starboard/western bank, . . and Kelfield Bight, where you need to favour the port/eastern bank all the way round the bight to make sure you're well clear of the shallow steep-to ness which comes a surprisingly long way out from the western side of the river.

Have we heard if Socks trip went ok? well she was on line last night and again about an hour ago so she must have survived. ....... West Stockwith is nice and the first part of the Chesterfield is very rural and quiet but the weed can be a major pain

I always find it amusing, how prior to an excursion onto rivers, folks are clearly wary, cautious, perhaps even anxious ... making enquiries of others and seeking guidance and reassurance.
After completing such a trip they become quite calm, even casual about any potential concerns.
I hope @socks was able to enjoy the journey.
