Interestingly I don't exist on there which considering I am the only person on the internet with my name means I am getting something right π maybe you don't exist on there because you don't live in America? I assumed it was over here as well seeing they launched here a while ago. I guess it's membership only.

It's not. Ricco has the 'Reverse Midas Touch' - everything he comes into contact with breaks, or is found to be wanting: surfboard - broke. boat engine - seized. cottage stove - eaten by mice. tenants - gun-wielding drug pushers. just waiting for the Barmouth earthquake. I bet he hasn't pulled as often as you have though Foxy. pulled what?

Huawei and Andriod, cant get any more data mining than that.. I was trying to find my nephew in the States yesterday and came across the web site mylife.com . Scary stuff. Not only did it have a lot of info about individuals, it also has a reputation score! So it seems we will not just have to worry about credit scores in the future. Won't connect. isitdownrightnow says mylife.com is down right now. Wikipedia says: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MyLifeAn interesting but sad site is www. m i s s i n g k i d s.org eg. www.missingkids.org/footer/media/anniversaries (written with spaces because as normal is does not appear here on TB - strange - I wonder what the reason for that is)

A bit of research tells me that dongles don't work with Android. Why are computers so complicated? I'd like one like a tv. You know, switch it on, it works, straight away and usually works for many years. When it stops working you don't have to go through the trauma of 'troubleshooting' which is always written in techie gobblygook bullshit. Instead, you just buy a new tv, plug it in, it works, for 5, 10 or even 20 years. Perfect.
Surely I'm not the only one who has no interest whatsoever in learning more than where the on off switch is and just wants a computer to be simple, reliable and able to carry out a small number of simple tasks without traumatising the consumer?

I assume you do mean a usb dongle, and not mifi as Android works really well with mifi. Maybe its time to upgrade to a mifi as well, and drag yourself into the 21st century. Oh and my tablet fired up first time connected to my mifi and thence to the internet no trauma at all, apart from finding the mifi password. ETA If it is an early usb dongle then there is a very good chance it wont work under windoze 10. My old Orange one doesn't as there are no drivers for it.

A dongle to do what? and if itβs a dongle intended to run under Windows then yes it probably wonβt run on Android.

The zip code option on the site does not include letters so it's impossible to put in a UK postcode.

Clinton Cool I use a chromebook for more or less everything, had it a few years, updates are seamless, no hanging around like with ipad and windows laptop. We have them too but I prefer the chromebook. My next one will be a folding touchscreen /keyboard one. With enough oomph to also run Linux.

I thought the thing with chrome books is that they really need to always be connected to the internet, so not ideal for a boat or a house with no broadband.

An LTE android tablet works on the best value SIM card you can get.

Once again my laptop has given up the ghost. They only seem to last a year or two, rubbish. I only need a laptop for simple tasks. Forums, bit of streaming, eBay, banking, that type of thing. Looking around for a new one it seems Android ones are much cheaper than Windows equivalents. I don't like Windows, always stealing my data doing updates that I can't control and don't need. Would an Android one do the job? I just want something simple that doesn't constantly steal data, can connect with wifi and my dongle. The chrome laptops are ok, but have a short lifespan, plus the fact many are emmc rather than ssd or hdd. Emmc cannot be upgraded to ssd either. I use an iPad, Samsung tab and a Windows laptop. Sadly, nothing seems to be on a par with Windows at the end of the day. If you get a Windows laptop, at least you can upgrade it both with software and hardware. As others have stated, go with ssd and at least 250gb. You can always add memory if 4gb is not enough.

Huawei and Andriod, cant get any more data mining than that.. Wouldn't have it any other way. I just destroyed our old pc for parts on the delorean. Christ it was basic. Wouldn't even support windows 8 but it was 18 years old. Cost 2k though from John Lewis. Haven't used it in 8 years so it had to go.

Don't know the make but my missus got a laptop from work. Pretty decent for what she does, it folds the wrong way around and becomes a touchscreen tablet.
Won't support todays high end games though.
