The car is a convenience and all that interests me is how to get to where I'm going with the least hassle (and expense). Oh, I agree wholeheartedly .................... now motorbikes I used to be quite keen on them too. But its a young man's game.

I am aware that it can be done. Maybe if I had a garage I might have something for sunny afternoons in it. As things stand a functional car is more than enough for me. I do like two-strokes though - the noise, the smell. What is it - T500 perhaps?

And I was like "depreciation" Isn't it. Good value second hand but 135 tyres? That's quadricycle territory. Somebody else has done the depreciation tyres are bigger than that plus I can drive around for free loads of free charging point all over the place! whats not to like about it?

Unless it has all season / winter tyres it will be shit in the snow, sleet and on wet roads below 7degC As are many other cars in the UK that run on summer tyres.

I surprised the farmer today somewhat.
He was loading sheep into a truck which was completely blocking the gravel track.
Beside it is a field with no crops just earth. And soggy earth.
He offered to move the truck I said "no it's okay this has four wheel drive". He shook his head "I don't think you'll make it in that". I drove around through the mud and it didn't seem at all bothered, did get a bit gooey but steered back onto the track okay. I didn't even use the 'grip control' feature. Just went straight through.
Mr Land Rover Disco farmer was definitely a little surprised by Agnès.
Quite pleased with that.

Its the smallest of his bikes the others are an AJS 350 Trials and a 500 MotoGuzzi

Talking of fast cars, we bought a BMW I3 Rex yesterday, Today Jayne discovered just how fast electric cars are, apparently 0 - 30 is quicker than the V8 BMW M3, 0 - 60 its a close run thing as well! The upshot was Jayne showed a hot hatch a clean pair of heels coming out of a roundabout he nearly blew it up trying to catch her, she was oblivious to what she had done π€ͺπ»π I remember in the mid 90βs there was talk of a 1.8TD Escort being quicker in gear from 30-50 than its RS Cosworth sibling - on balance I think Iβd rather have the RS and drive it properly! I think there was similar talk about the MG Meastro turbo having a very narrow edge over the RS at a very specific speed range - that little win could never be enough to want one over an Escort! You have to be careful at times, practical classics thought they would have some fun at an allegros expense, they arranged a race with various cars including an allegro equipe [1750 twin carb], anyway after 10 laps it lapped the XR3 and all the other so called hot hatches so funny

Its the challenge of arrival. when we can travel I am off to Auchencairn Scotland, the journey will take the same as normal, at the halfway point we will stop and charge have a pee and something to eat the car will be fully charged in that time. Its what we always do so nothing will have changed. The days of me doing 200 plus miles without a break have long gone

Yeah but, fast cars and bikes give you warm fizzy feeling when you nail them - particularly if you annihilate some body else that thinks they are a bit quick ππ»π Personally I've seen too many results of what happens when twats treat the road as a playground (and maybe watched too many youtube videos). There are daily reports of carnage and death in the news and it seems to me the majority are the work of deluded incompetent fools. The car is a convenience and all that interests me is how to get to where I'm going with the least hassle (and expense). Daewoo Matiz or Toyota Previn for you then - the equivalent of motoring purgatory π€ͺπ»π Just like guns and cricket bats - speed doesnβt kill, inappropriate speed does. Life would be dead boring if we were all driving around in brown 50hp 3 box turds on wheels! Andyberg has it rightππ»
