Respect to the harbour master, a thankless job at this location but he managed to carry out his duties in a orderly manner

I worked as a chef for the last 8 years of my working life and we did between 450 and 550 covers a day at the Swan in Horning and at that level we would not be able to cope with all this arty farty ways of seving up food but if anyone suggested it I know what e response would be, something along the lines of Go forth and populate, the last word is quite uncanny because it ryhmes with copulate. in a war, everybody loses. True, but in the wider context, I reckon that the Russians will slink away with their tale between their legs muttering all manner of excuses

Yes, lucky we will pass quickly and won't have to endure a prolonged lingering death fighting off all those free loaders who wish to acquire any of my stuff that they fancy, better to die on your feet than on your knees. Phil😊🇺🇦

We have the pleasure of hosting the USAF at Mildenhall and Lakenheath and having had this chat with my mate we decided that the best we can do is stand on the boat roof with a beer in hand and focus on the lights at the end of the runway to be sure of not missing the millisecond of nuclear firework display before our eyeballs melt and the blast strips every vestige of flesh from our bones. Other than that we'll be fine

The name Stokesby makes me shudder, we often took a trip there and one Friday in November we both had a few days owing so we took ourselves to Stokesby. The problem was that I checked the tide tables and was certain that we would be mooring up at about high water. It was dark as we neared the mooring on the staithe and as usual Chris was on the stern ready to throw a rope around a bollard while I jumped off the bows with a line only to have the boat whip round and left me clinging on for grim death. I shouted to Chris to get to the helm at the front of the boat and put some revs on and bring the boat back to me. Once we had got it sorted out it became obvious that I had checked the tide table and got the wrong week. Chris said she wouldn't have minded a night out in Yarmouth but felt bad about leaving me behind Easy to get it wrong, and fortunately easily put right with a decent crew. (thanks Chris)

Welcome to the old gadgers club, open to all so hope you make the most of your membership and have a really lovely day Happy Birthday 😊🇺🇦 He's been in the old gadgers club for years. Like they say "Life begins at 40 but death begins at 30". Now I'm worried, on that basis I've been dying for 46 years, phew makes you think.

eh? you didn't like Bassy's post? shame on you
oh! you really did like it! shame on me and my senior moments (getting more frequent as the birthdays come and go with increasing frequency - or so it seems).
You should learn to embrace senior moments as I have done

My bitch who I named Jetzie was an old English squirrelhound also known as a Battersea dogs home random whippet mongrel thing. Chasing of squirrels in Bushy Park was encouraged. She was my animal for 16 years and died on my lap and pissed on my trousers. One day I was out walking the dogs with my mum, who had two lurchers, and there was a bloke in the park feeding a squirrel. It was like he had tamed it. Unfortunately for him Jetzie belted over to the squirrel, killed it then ran off. No retriever that dog but a good killer. Fortunately for me I was out of sight (it's a known quality) and the random Battersea dogs home whippet mongrel disappeared as fast as she had arrived. I sometimes feel sorry for the bloke with the squirrel. Not often. Pissed on trousers is a sort of rite of passage for dog owners, I have had this more than once upon the demise of a favourite pet, one who had liver issues managed the piss followed up by black squit all over me. Couldn't get mad only concerned, a trip to the vet revealed that it was time for the rainbow bridge.
