Wot? On the hard shoulder? Halfway through (pick any road) Wales? In the fens with nobody for miles? The perceived wisdom is we are all hipsters that like ridiculous coffee and plan our journeys around a flat white. The reality is we all use our motors in different ways, and as you say, places like Wales and fenland don't fit that idiotic ideal. it's the same as charging at home, how do those living in terraced streets get on? You can't be sure of a parking space with an IC powered car, how the fuck are you supposed to be able to charge an electric car up? Is every House going to have yards of cable dragged up atge Street to fill up with electrons? How would an elderly or disabled person get about safely with all those cables trailed about the place? Same goes for work, my wife works in a hospital and pays for a space but isn't guaranteed one. Imagine the cost of putting charging points in every space at every hospital up and down the country, what happens when you can't Park and connect to the grid? It's a huge problem that I don't think is capable of being solved - not within the so called straightened times that are squeezing budgets as Well Two things you more than likely wont own a car! because hire/taxis will be so cheap. Secondly Philip my friendly farmer has just been approached to put a wind farm on his land, this is happening constantly and the power is where you need it, the future is here already you just dont like it, but in reality you wont have a choice full stop. Oh and Hybrids are a waste of time and money full electric with induction is the future

How do I go cycling where I want when I want? Walking the dog?take a sick child to hospital at a moment's notice in the dead of night? get a pregnant lady who is just about to gove birth to hospital It's Ill thought out and impractical to implement in the real world. Wind farms are not automatically rubber-stamped either 👍 historicengland.org.uk/whats-new/news/wind-farm-blown-away-by-court-of-appeal/

Gazza you are a petrolhead I used to be but now I couldnt care less and I realise for my kids future that electric cars/transport are the future and renewables is the only way to do it. On the M1 where it breaks to the M18 there are a load of wind generators, they are on another mates farm you can see them for miles the village where they are were up in arms still happened. In a couple of years we will be electric rich and petrol and diesel car will be a distant thought

Uber taxi drivers will get you safely from your house to theirs where their mates are waiting: Perfik then isnt it self driving taxis get rid of the above problems cant wait for the day when all cars drive themselves

What happens if you refuse to put your seat belt on in a self-driving car and tell the computer to bugger off if it insists you do? Can you do graffiti inside these cars? Like writing in marker pen www.thunderboat.net on the ceiling fabric? More than likely lock you in and drive you to the nearest plod station with video evidence busted or what

I wonder if your the only person in a driverless taxi will people get sort of car jacked more and mugged.
If someone stands in front of it it WILL stop. There's no one to go "oh shit" and drive off.
