... there is a new generation of youngsters surely they have some technical knowledge and get-up-and-go. But they have been conditioned to 'selling up' as soon as they are likely to be able to earn a fortune and leave the risk with others. Lazy gits...

I know the UK is in theory 'crap at making things' but there is a new generation of youngsters surely they have some technical knowledge and get-up-and-go. How about they fix the travelators at Manchester Airport first? These have been continuously out of order for at least 20 years. That would be a good project before they start playing at cars. "I have extensive experience of many airports around the world. I can honestly say that Manchester is by far the worst. It is worse even than all 3rd world airports I have used. The whole experience fills me with dread in the anticipation of what is come every time I have to arrive or depart. The facilities are old and tatty, the staff are rude and uncaring and the security staff have no consistency in the way they manage. Over the past 10 years I have seen a gradual and steady decline in standards. The Manchester Airport Group (MAG) have recently introduced pickup and drop off charges. They will not doubt defend that decision as helping to reduce vehicle traffic, or even under the banner of some environmental initiative. Well, I don’t believe them. This in my opinion is yet another cynical attempt to extract more money from travellers. Will it help to fund improvements in infrastructure or improve passenger experience? I don’t think so. I think it will just help to improve the annual bonus of executives. For many of us there is no option and we have to use Manchester Airport. But, if there is any other option I will always take it."

Good read John, made me smile as further down was the Nissan thing, I read about it yesterday, rather than close down Sunderland they are going to close down the French and Spanish operations and concentrate on the UK market electric cars and vans anybody? The article is equally misleading as Nissan deny the existence of any such plan. It was on yesterdays google feed from a different source altogether, Uber seem to be doing a deal with them to provide leafs for drivers at a better rate, so one never knows how true a story is do you? They all seem to deny it until the moment they do it!
I do know that the tie up between Nissan and Renault is a little stretched so who knows?

" 'My dress slipped because I've got a broken ankle': Labour MP Tracy Brabin blames wardrobe malfunction for THAT 'inappropriate' Commons outfit "
" TV commentator Carole Malone added: 'It wasn't just off the shoulder it was completely off the shoulder. There is a dress code in Parliament. If a male MP turned up in joggers and track suit he would be criticised and rightly so. When you wear something like that it detracts form what you're saying.'
But the shadow minister today accused her detractors of 'everyday sexism' after she received a barrage of abuse for her revealing outfit from trolls who said she looked like a 'slapper' who had 'just been banged over a wheelie bin.' "
"It's inappropriate. End of. Sold on ASOS as an evening/occassion dress. It didn't slip. It's the design and she picked it, wore it and lied about it."
"Come on, you are a 58 year old woman: you KNOW what you are wearing!!!"
"Well you're clearly not organised enough or in control of your life, or mature enough to hold such a position then. Being late, having to rush blah blah. Get organised or...get another job"

I think she looks lovely. Sexist old man It's a black dress ... what's the problem. Corbyn wore a tie, shirt and jacket to the armistice commemoration and was quite widely criticised for how he looked - was that ok?Rog Not having a pop at you so please don't think otherwise - just commenting on the subject from my perspective.

I think she looks lovely. It's a black dress ... what's the problem. No problem, just pointing out another lying poitician. Despite her 'broken ankle' she was able to attend a 'music event' and then let it overrun so she was late for Parliament - probably just so she could get her expenses claims in. Perhaps Boris should turn up wearing no shirt or vest or trousers but just a tie and underpants? Was just going through the Daily Mail, catching up on things. But now it's time to buy our train tickets for our return from Japan in May, and possibly also our Summer plane tickets Helsinki - Heathrow just 130 Euros return/person. And dry dock / welder have to be sorted. Couple of 'shoe plates' required.

'Sexist old man' is not a pop ? Really ? I think she looks lovely. The eagerness with which the press attacks females over their dress is alarming ... no comment on what she said, just how she looked. I didn't criticise Corbyn for his dress sense ... much better targets in what he said It's amazing how newspapers who used to sport topless models, routinely stir up apoplexy if someone is seen breast feeding in public ... or bareing a shoulder in Westminster. What do you think ? Rog

I'm sorry, but I think calling me a 'sexist old man' is taking a pop, and merely saying you're not and putting a smiley doesn't make it better.
But I don't hate you, just letting you know it looks like a pop.
Did you think I'd ignore it ?
Anyway, you challenged my view that the lady looked lovely ... what's your view ?

I agree ... but I meant your view on the criticism levelled at her ... and indeed as you raised it, Corbyn's appearance ?
