Eventually somebody will crack this dry toilet malarky in way that makes it the obvious choice.
Perhaps what's needed is a way of extracting pure enough water from pee to dump in the canal rather than having to empty the pee so often. Then one could perhaps go for weeks or months without emptying or disposing of anything and that would certainly attract more interest.

When I first started caving/potholing you could pee in your lamp 'battery' to keep it going. We need to get back to the old ways of recycling!

Not sure we called them carbide lamps. Just looked it up, calcium carbide. Add water (or piss) and it produces acetylene.
