Hi, I had EE for years 'till they started playing about with PAYG, essentially making it a monthly contact. Went to a THREE shop where I was sorted with a very good assistant, got all the gubbins including a phone, and a mifi type contract. All well, went back eighteen months later, and changed internet contract, which included a new tablet, essentially at no extra cost. Bought a new mifi, though this was probably not needed, as it happens. Tablet has died, well unusable but still turns ON Phone refused to contact THREE today, then virtually expired. It is no longer connecting, at all. The phone has refused to connect to internet this last fortnight. So, I am still able go chat with THREE via internet Gmail seems reluctant to interact ? Internet signal seems normal, acording to mifi. So, I can't use the phone, at all. I can't use the tablet. I have cancelled both contracts ( direct debits ), there is no THREE shop near here as far as I can make out. There is an EE, I think, do I just go and buy a new phone and get the staff to set it all up? I refuse to send THREE phone back to manufacturer as suggested by THREE, nor The Tablet. Understandable solution, but not practical. It was suggested I put the sim card from my phone in anoother phone, but I can't remember how to remove the thing, (there is a slidng drawer on side of phone). Also I have no other phone. Help! Will can I keep same phone number.

Lots of problems world wide with Google apps today, might this be related?

Not convenient to visit a Three shop? Bad luck. A positive step would be to have Three check for a fault with their systems.

Be very careful about cancelling direct debits if you are still in the contract period.

Be very careful about cancelling direct debits if you are still in the contract period. You will get taken for the whole cost of the remaining contract, Easiest thing is to buy an unlocked phone and put your sim in it You keep your number that way.

Yes you can keep your number - ask 3 for a PAC number, give PAC number to EE and they will sort.
If still in contract period on either airtime or gadgets contact 3 urgently to discuss consequences of stopping contract/DD.

As to getting the SIM card out, I am sure some passing kid will have both the dexterity and know-how to do it.

Hmmm, well so, I have a spare sim from THREE which is Payg and I tried it in the phone but to no effect. There is a sort of intermittent message on the phone which indicates where I have to press to reboot, but it is not re booting. AND by now I have stuck the pin in all the orifices! I assume I can buy a cheapo phone from a supermarket, stick the old sim in and see if it connects to THREE? Will that new phone say something like 'unlocked'? Or can I buy a new dual sim phone from the EE shop and swap over the sim, will that then give me both EE with one number and one contract, plus allow the THREE phone contract to fire up. I have two mifi s, so not sure if that helps , only one is streaming the Three, I think. The other one used to work, but has not beeen in use for some time. I try to keep life simple, but I have failed, again.

Given your connectivity issues this may not be all that great a suggestion but...I bought a brand-new twin-sim 4g unlocked phone for only £40 on t'web. I very much doubt you'll get a deal like that in a high street shop. But you should be able to buy some kind of unlocked phone easily enough.
However your sim may not be active...ask the network...

What you've described could be a fault on the site serving where you are that will eventually be resolved. Worth taking the kit a few miles away and trying again before you go to the nuclear options.
